Red Sea Global claims first zero carbon 5G network in Saudi Arabia

Together with Zain, the company has launched a 5G network to serve a new tourism resort.

Red Sea Global (RSG) is the project developer behind various Saudi tourism destinations, including The Red Sea and Amaala.

Together with local MNO Zain, the company has launched a zero-carbon 5G network at the Six Senses Southern Dunes resort at The Red Sea.

The company says the 5G network is powered by 100% renewable energy from over 760,000 solar panels that RSG has built to power the entire 28,000 sq km destination.

The network uses 5G towers that look like natural desert rocks, to appear integrated into the landscape. RSG says the towers were built using 3D printing technology.
