The Belgian operator has announced a partnership with infrastructure provider Dense Air Networks.
Citymesh and Digi have announced their plan to enhance their network through the deployment of Dense Air’s RAN-as-a-service small cells and proprietary neutral host platform.
The companies, which announced their partnership after Belgium’s spectrum auction last year, are hoping to develop a country-wide network to become Belgium’s fourth national operator.
This partnership builds on the acquisition of Dense Air’s Belgian subsidiary, Dense Air Belgium, and its 2.6GHz spectrum earlier this year, adding 45MHz of prime 4G/5G spectrum to Citymesh/Digi spectrum portfolio.
“Citymesh/Digi are becoming powerful new 5G mobile operators. We are excited to support their ambitious 5G network densification in Belgium, utilizing our unique RAN-as-a-Service solution, cellShare neutral host platform, and big data analytics,” says the founder and chairman of Dense Air Paul Senior.
