Three UK launched its 5G network for smartphone users on February 14th, 2020 in 65 locations, including parts of London, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Coventry and Nottingham.
The 5G network went live earlier in August 2019. It was available in central London and to Three Broadband service users only. Users who paid 30 GBP (36 EUR) for a 5G unlimited fixed wireless service.
New smartphone plans are 5G-ready at no additional cost. Plans offer five data packages and three commitments for prices ranging from 10 GBP (12 EUR) to 20 GBP (23.9 EUR). Prices do not differ significantly. Data packages range from 4 to 100 GB/month.
High-end plans offer unlimited data, unlimited voice and texts at 20 GBP (24 EUR) per month for a 24-month commitment or 11 GBP (13 EUR) for a 6-month commitment and 25 GBP (30 EUR) for only one month. Limited data plans, which include unlimited texts and minutes, are also available with three different commitments (1-12-24 months). The low-end package proposes 4 GB of data for 10 GBP (12 EUR) for a 2-year commitment.
