It is the last operator in the country to launch 5G services.
Local press has reported that Telekom Romania has launched 5G in several cities using its existing spectrum holdings. Telekom Romania is part of the Deutsche Telekom group, and the company is the fourth biggest national operator in the country.
The move was seen as a surprise because Telekom did not participate in last year’s 5G spectrum auction. Rival operators Vodafone, Digi and Orange launched their 5G services in 2019.
