The mobile operator says consumption of mobile data in its 5G network has grown 13x this year.
Tele2 says it has built 350 5G base stations in the country, and its network is available now to 63% of the population. It says the total weight of new 5G equipment installed in its network is equal to 42 elephants.
The operator says the number of 5G users is growing steadily, and it expects 5G to become the dominant technology in Latvia by 2027.
Although 5G data consumption is growing, it currently only makes up around 7% of the total data flowing through Tele2’s network.
