The German telecom regulator, Bundesnetzagentur (BNetzA) says that 53% of the country is now covered by 5G services.
The announcement came alongside a new map put out by the BNetzA which tracks geographic 5G coverage.
This map uses data collected from the regulator’s own speed test app called “Funkloch” and it allows users to browse cellular coverage in the country, including 3G and 4G networks.
The regulator says this 5G coverage was achieved through a combination of 3.6 GHz spectrum as well as Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS), which uses existing 4G infrastructure for 5G.
