France launches new 6G R&D programme

Called ‘Networks of the Future’, the new programme has a budget of €65 million.

The project is a research program that will support scientific research of future network technologies. It brings together public research players to work on 10 major targeted research projects on future network technologies.

It will be accompanied by ‘France 6G’, a new platform to coordinate French industrial and academic players in their research towards 6G technologies.

The Networks of the Future initiative will be funded by the previously announced France 2030 initiative, which focuses on three main areas, including R&D work on 5G and 6G, cybersecurity and resilience for mobile networks and improving the environmental impact of telecoms networks.
