NTT Docomo Business has announced the rollout of a fully managed private 5G (“P5G”) service in Hong Kong.
The service will enable enterprises to “build highly secure digital infrastructure operating on fast data transfer speeds, ultra-low latency, and massive connectivity – an important step towards the city’s digitalization journey.”
The service will be deployed in 26-28 GHz mmWave spectrum. According to Docomo, it will help Hong Kong businesses build a private 5G network to support the massive demand for uplink-centric Internet of Things and mission-critical applications running on a single wireless network. This will make it an “ideal network for connected devices to transmit information quickly and efficiently at the enterprise level.”
The key benefits of the P5G, Docomo said, are high performance and reliability; network security and control; cost savings; and mobility and micro-slicing.
