The German mobile operator has announced a significant expansion of its 5G network.
Deutsche Telekom says it now operates a total of 8,200 5G antennas in the 3.6 GHz band. This is an increase of 3,200 from last year when the operator reported it had built 5,000 base stations in this band.
“Over 94 per cent of the population can already use 5G from Telekom, and we will reach 99 per cent of the population by 2025,” says managing director of technology Abdu Mudesir, “we are providing Germany with a nationwide and sustainable network to make Germany fit for the digital future.”
Deutsche Telekom also said its 4G network covers 99% of the population.
