The mobile operator says it achieved speeds of 2.679 Gbps.
The operator also announced it will launch its public commercial 5G network in Lithuania on February 14th. Previously, the company had only provided 5G fixed wireless access services for residential customers in select regions.
“With the 5G Internet record, we aim to demonstrate the communication capabilities of Bitė. We are proud that the achieved 5G internet speed record is more than 16 times higher than the average internet speed achieved by previous communication technologies,” says Gintas Butenas, General Director of Bite.
Competing mobile operator Telia was the first operator in the country to launch 5G in January 2022. Tele2 meanwhile, officially launched its commercial 5G network last September, following the country’s 700 MHz and 3.6 GHz auctions.
