The operator has launched its “5G Home” service which was first revealed during Mobile World Congress earlier this year.
Vodafone describes the new service, which can reach speeds of up to 1 Gbps, as “complementary” to its existing fibre offering. The required router can be installed by the customer themselves, without the need for a technician.
The service will initially be available in Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Valencia, Malaga, Seville, Bilbao and A Coruña. Vodafone says it will soon expand the service to a further 65 cities.
5G Home will start at €31 a month. However, customers will need to pay an additional €5 a month for the first 26 months to finance the cost of the router.
