Telia has launched a standalone 5G network with its partner Nokia.
Telia says this deployment is the first commercial 5G standalone network to be deployed in the Nordic and Baltic regions. The network will initially launch to selected users in 20 geographical areas across Finland, with further rollout to follow.
The operator says it will offer residential customers guaranteed broadband speeds and lower latency with the network. It will also enable the use of network slicing, a technology that can split up a network into different slices for different applications.
