The mobile network provider says it has reached its target six months ahead of schedule.
Telefónica, which operates under the brand name O2 in Germany, says it is continuing its 5G network expansion and now expects to reach 60% of the German population by the end of the year. The operator aims to offer 5G services to the entire population in 2025.
The network comprises of more than 14,000 5G antennas. The operator is using the 3.6 GHz band and the 700 MHz band to provide the 5G services. The rollout is complemented by the use of Dynamic Spectrum Sharing technology (DSS) on the 1800 MHz band.
