Verizon Wireless launched its 5G commercial service in parts of Chicago and Minneapolis in April 2019. 20 additional cities will be covered at year-end 2019: limited areas of Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Des Moines, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Little Rock, Memphis, Phoenix, Providence, San Diego, Salt Lake City and Washington D.C. will be 5G markets.
Pre-orders for the Samsung S10 5G began at the end of April 2019. The smartphone is available in Verizon stores and online since May 16, 2019 and available exclusively from Verizon for a limited time.
It is the first smartphone on the US market. It retails for 1,299 USD for the 256 GB model or 54.16 USD per month for 24 months on Verizon Device Payment and 1,399 USD for 58.33 USD per month for 24 months on Verizon Device Payment for the 512 GB version. For a limited time, customers can save half of the total price.
With the phone, customers have to sign up to “Above limited” and “Beyond unlimited” plans respectively charged at 95 USD and 85 USD per month and pay the 10 USD add-on to run on 5G.
