O2 Slovakia has launched 5G services in 15 towns and cities in the west of the country.
The operator said in a press release that the new network will allow compatible devices to use speeds up to 1 Gbps.
The operator also announced its goal to cover 20% of Slovakia’s population with 5G services by the end of the year.
The launch follows a pilot program conduced by O2 which launched a year ago in select parts of Bratislava. The network will rely on Ericsson’s 5G technology.
O2 also announced it was doubling customer’s data allowance for free for a temporary time, allowing them to take advantage of the new faster network.
