Ericsson and ABB have teamed up to showcase their contributions to the French Industrial 5G strategy. The guides explain innovative 5G applications, including those deployed at the Ford Motors factory in Spain.
During the Global Industrie 2023 conference in Paris, two white papers on industrial 5G were made public. These guides clarify and shed light on the conditions for the successful implementation of 5G technology within industrial sites.
The papers were produced by Ericsson and ABB. Both are members of the strategic sector committees (CSF), “digital infrastructures” and “solutions for the industries of the future”, which were set up by the Ministry of the Economy and Finance.
“This guide reflects the ambition of an ecosystem concerned with providing French industries with the tools necessary for the success of their industrial 5G project. It offers a global view of the available solutions and highlights the points that need to be taken into account by the industry. In the long term, I hope that it will lead to the emergence of an ecosystem of partners from the telecoms, digital and industrial sectors, capable of proposing “turnkey” and complementary solutions,” says Jean-Noel Barrot, Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Telecommunications.
“The development of Industrial 5G in France will be beneficial for France’s competitiveness and ecological transition and highlights the Swedish know-how of ABB and Ericsson in this field,” says Viktor Arvidsson, Director of Strategy and Innovation at Ericsson France.
