The French government is supporting research and development (R&D) projects on advanced 5G and future network generations.
Projects will focus on three areas, including R&D work on 5G and 6G, cybersecurity and resilience for mobile networks and improving the environmental impact of telecoms networks.
The plan is part of Macron’s €54 billion euro investment plan called France 2030. The plan aims to transform key economic sectors in the country including energy, automotive, aeronautics and space. The government says 5G and future telecommunications network technologies represent a key lever of competitiveness.
Applications will be assessed in four waves over the course of the year, with a final deadline set for February 28, 2024.
