The Estonian regulator has raised a total of €17.3 million from the award.
The Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (TTJA) has completed its three-round auction in the 3410-3800 MHz band. This band is one of three EU 5G pioneer bands.
The country’s three major mobile operators Elisa, Telia and Tele2 all secured licences. The auction was sequential, meaning that blocks of spectrum were sold one after another with winners being announced over the course of a few months.
TTJA says it’s now looking to award the 700 MHz band, which is another key 5G pioneer band. It says it will hold an auction in the band in autumn of this year.
