Elisa says its network will initially be used to offer fixed wireless access (FWA) home and office broadband services.
In areas covered by 5G, the company will offer customers home broadband with speeds up to 500 Mbit/s.
Later in the year, Elisa will open up its 5G network to all mobile devices that support the technology. The operator says it will reveal more details about 5G plans in the coming months.
Earlier in June, Elisa was the first winner of Estonia’s 3.6 GHz spectrum auction. This auction is still ongoing as it is being conducted in multiple stages.
