Late in November 2019, EE part of BT, announced the roll-out of 5G services in 14 additional locations across the UK including Liverpool, Glasgow, Watford and Wolverhampton, Castlereagh, Guildford, Hamilton, Harlow, Hoddesdon, Huddersfield, Kimberley, Lisburn, Maidstone and Sydenham.
EE launched 5G earlier in May in London, Edinburgh, Belfast, Cardiff, Birmingham and Manchester, and has expanded 5G since then. The network has targeted to have 5G connectivity in 45 cities and large towns by the end of the year.
The operator said its 5G NSA network now covers 61% of the London area (Vodafone: 22%). EE added it will switch to SA from 2020.
Prices for EE’s 5G plans at November 2019, start at GBP 41 (EUR 48) a month for 10GB of data, rising to GBP 69 (EUR 81) a month for unlimited data. Speeds of 100-150 Mbps are experienced according to EE.
Late in November 2019, EE was offering 8 compatible devices: the OnePlus’ 7 Pro 5G, the Samsung S10 5G, the Oppo Reno 5G, the LG V50 ThinQ, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 5G, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G, the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G and the Huawei Mate 20 X 5G.
