The 26 GHz band is available for commercial use for the first time in Germany.
The 5G campus network set up for automation company Ger4tech Mechatronik supports both 3.7 GHz and 26 GHz bands. Deutsche Telekom said the mmWave band would enable low latency and download speed of 4 Gbps, with upload speed of 2 Gbps.
“It is important for our industrial customers in the age of artificial intelligence to be able to upload data from machines and thus make it available and analyzable in real time”, said Klaus Werner, Managing Director Business Customers at DT.
“This is the only way for companies to introduce AI applications sensibly and efficiently and derive great benefits for their business.”
