Deutsche Telekom has announced that it is building a 5G campus network. The network will be located in the Future Factory Hub, which is currently being constructed in Werner-con-Siemens Centre for Industry and Science e.V in Berlin.

In the 5G area of the project, Deutsche Telekom plans to research and test applications for autonomous production logistics, in order to “quickly transfer solutions based on 5G and edge computing into the production technology practice of companies”.

Lutz Schneider says “we are interested in making these modern technologies practically usable for companies, for example to speed up internal logistical processes in production.”

The project is funded by the Berlin Senate.
