This is the third time the Belgian government has made funding available for innovative 5G projects.
The latest call for funding will make at least €250,000 available per project and targets innovative use cases, including companies, police and fire services and hospitals.
Deputy Prime Minister Petra De Sutter told local press that although 5G coverage in Belgium has now reached 60% of the population, there is a gap when it comes to business-related 5G deployments which the new funding call is targeting.
Applications for interested parties are due on 30 June 2024, and more details can be found here.
Earlier this year, the government announced the eight projects that will benefit from its previous round of funding.
