The operator also says its 5G network now reaches 66% of the country’s population.
The mobile operator attributes the increase in traffic to new hybrid and home working patterns which were spurred on by the covid-19 pandemic.
A1 says users between the ages of 30-50 made up the majority of the increase in data use, followed by young people under the age of 30. A share of 19% of this increase used the operator’s 5G network. This share is expected to rise to 50% by the end of 2023
A1 claims it has the largest 5G network in Slovenia. It has plans to further increase coverage to cover 98% of the country by 2025.
The operator also observed a total of 1.3 billion SMS messages sent over its network, which is a decrease of 10% from the previous year.
