Telecom market analyst Dell’Oro Group says the private wireless radio access network (RAN) market is developing at a slower pace than expected.
Dell’Oro’s report shows that shipments and revenues for private wireless RAN equipment are below initial expectations.
Dell’Oro Vice President Stefan Pongratz says the markdown is driven by challenges in the commercial deployments of private wireless networks, rather than subsiding demand. The market analyst group still sees private wireless as a “massive opportunity”.
The group’s short-term forecast still predicts total revenues to more than double in 2022-2026.
