6G SNS JU announces €130 million in funding for 27 research projects

The Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) has announced the 27 winners of its second call for proposals.

The SNS JU is a public-private partnership established by the European Union that aims to facilitate and develop industrial leadership in Europe in 5G and 6G networks and services. The winners of its second call were announced by SNS JU Executive Director Erzsébet Fitori in her keynote at the 5G Techritory 2023 event.

There are now a total of 62 research, innovation, and trial projects as part of the SNS JU portfolio. The 27 new projects announced today launch the second phase of the SNS Roadmap, which will be further expanded with the future 3rd and 4th SNS JU Calls and the resulting projects that will kickstart their activities within 2025 and 2026 respectively.

The 27 new projects cover a wide array of 6G domains, including 6G system architecture, wireless communication technologies, signal processing, infrastructure technologies, experimental pan-EU federated infrastructure, pilots and verticals. A full list of winning projects can be found here.
