  • All major national operators have now launched 5G services, including Orange, SFR, Bouygues Telekom and Free.
  • France first auctioned the 700 MHz band in 2015 and the 3.6 GHz band in 2020. It has not yet assigned 26 GHz.
  • In 2022, the country issued a total of 13 5G private network licences in the 3.8-4.0 GHz band.
  • Also in 2022, France announced it would fund collaborative 5G projects together with the German government. A total of €17.7 has been pledged for these projects.
