IDATE DigiWorld estimates that 5G connections will increase significantly by 2026 and reach over 2 billion subscriptions at year-end.

2019 was the year of first 5G launches in advanced mobile markets (Australia, Austria, Finland, Italy, Qatar, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, UK, USA, and more to come).

2020 saw many 5G commercial launches. Subscriber uptake in China is huge with over 200 million 5G subscriptions at year-end 2020.

eMBB will still account for more than 80% of total 5G connections at the end of 2026.
