Three Austria launches standalone 5G home broadband services

The Austrian operator says it will use network slicing to offer 5G home broadband services in the country.

Three says it is the first operator in Austria to launch commercial standalone 5G services. Its new standalone service which is branded 5G+ is now available to 1.3 million households and companies.

The operator will use the service to provide 5G home broadband using network slicing. The company claims this is a world first. Its home broadband will also come with guaranteed bandwidth speeds. The lowest tier guarantees 50 Mbit/s while the highest tier guarantees 250 Mbit/s.
