Telefónica says its 5G network covers 30% of Germany’s population

Telefónica Germany, which operates under the brand name O2 says it now operates 10,000 5G antennas in the country.

Telefónica says that half of these antennas operate in the 3.6 GHz band. The operator says this band is ideally suited for fast and powerful 5G.

The operator says it plans to cover half of the country’s population by the end of 2025 in what it calls its “expansion offensive”.

“We are rolling out 5G faster than any other mobile technology before,” says Mallik Rao, chief technology officer at Telefónica. “Currently, around 40 new 5G antennas are being added every day”.
