Cosmote says its 5G network now covers 70% of Greece’s population

The Greek mobile network operator says it expects its network to cover 80% of the population by the end of this year.

Cosmote hopes to cover 90% of the country by the end of 2023. The company also says it will begin the roll-out of standalone 5G technology next year, suggesting that the current network relies predominately on dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS).

Cosmote is the largest network operator in Greece with over 7 million subscribers. The company has previously said it was the first operator in the country to launch 5G.
