Vodafone switched on its 5G network at the city’s airport
Vodafone switched on its 5G network at the city’s airport as a part of a large-scale 5G test where the telco is deploying 5G masts across Manchester. This test is part of Vodafone’s UK-wide trial of 5G in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, London and Manchester. A similar trial in Snow Hill railway station in Birmingham have been announced.
For its trials, Vodafone is using 5G smartphones form factor connected to Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 5G modems and antenna modules with integrated RF (radio frequency) transceiver, RF front-end and antenna elements.
